How much do you charge for your support ?

There will be NO CHARGE for initially installing and configuring any of the products listed on this site.  Those software products that have subscription licenses, enables you to receive all improvements, enhancement and "bug fixes" during the term of your subscription WITHOUT ADDITIONAL CHARGE.

Many of our products include help files and these should be consulted before calling our support line.  In addition, please check out the forums for the software products developed by Clark-Tech Inc.  Often, answers to your questions can be found in the forums.

If you require on-site support for more involved installation or configuration issues or for staff training, our support service rates are based on the hourly rate of the technician performing the service. The current rate for on-demand technical support is $100/hr with a minimum of 1 hr for on-site service and 1/4 hr for remote support provided via ctSupport and/or for general telephone support.

Unless your offices are outside the limits of the City of Calgary, AB, there is no charge for travel for our support staff between our offices and yours. Out-of-town travel rates are currently $85/hr. There is no mileage or gas surcharge charges for travel to your offices.

Custom software development projects, and specific research projects and similar undertakings are generally provided under the terms of a written agreement between your company and Clark-Tech Inc. in which the fees and costs are stated.

Where can I find a reference list of your existing clients ?

A short list of some of our clients can be found on our company's main website (here).  If you wish to contact one of our clients please call us and we will be pleased to provide you with the name of an appropriate contact person. If you wish to know if we have reference clients in a particular industry segment, please contact us and we will do our best to identify a client in your target industry.

Why doesn't ... ?

Why doesn't .... !   - this question usually falls into one of two main groups (a) lacking a feature, or (b) I didn't know that!

Software applications are designed and written by developers to improve the effectiveness of a business in meeting the needs of some particular business function.  Often the requirements of a particular application did not anticipate requirements beyond the initial needs identified by the developer.  If you identify a feature that is absent in of one of our products we would like to hear from you.  Often, your ideas can be incorporated into the feature-set of the application in a future release.  With your help, we can improve all of our products and perhaps deliver that feature that will make your business more efficient and effective.

Occasionally, you may not understand the full functionality of our software products.  In these cases, our documentation has failed to explain the features and functions adequately.  If you call with such a question, we will do our best to explain how to use the program to accomplish what you need.  With your feedback, we will strive to improve our documentation and examples so that other users don't have to ask the same question.  In any case, we always welcome your questions.

When is ... to be fixed/released?
When we are informed of a software "bug" or feature that doesn't work as claimed, we will make every effort to fix the deficiency and ensure that you get a copy of the revised program as soon as our resources permit.  New version releases often bring new functionality to a program and the testing of the new version often brings with it uncertainty as to the timing of the release.  Rest assured that we want to release a new version of a program as soon as we can.  Only through continually improving our software products can we be expect to grow and prosper - the same expectation that we have for our clients.

What happens if my company absolutely depends on ....? Occasionally, a business can become so dependent upon a particular software product that if we as a company ceased to be able to support or offer the product then your business might suffer irreparable harm.  To provide those clients with a measure of security, Clark-Tech Inc. has put in place Software Escrow arrangements that can provide the client with assured access to the source code of his critical programs irrespective of what events should befall the developers.  Please call us at (403) 297-9797 to discuss this issue in more detail.
